Madison and her Margarita

Hey everyone!

One of my goals this week (should I have goals on March Break???) was to enter a few card challenges, which I'm happy to report - I've done!

I wanted to do the current Sketch Challenge at My Favourite Things, and I went back and forth on designs, stamps, paper, ideas...  It literally took most of the afternoon to decide.  But that's OK!  I'm really enjoying this week off and having time to just delve feet first into all these projects, while not having to worry about a thousand other things.

I chose one of the Uptown Girls stamps from Stampingbella.  I have a definite weakness for all things Stampingbella...  So for this one it's Madison has a Margarita.

( I'd like a Margarita...)

Madison screams out for bright lively colours, so she's dressed in Copics and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  I used Simon Says Stamp's Falling Snow stencil (sideways) to add the dots with Peacock Feathers, and then used the same ink to blend her "aura".

I made a mask with a post-it note - I stamped the image and then just cut out one side so I didn't get dots on her lovely self.  This is a really quick way to make a mask, and it can be re-used over and over again.  For this application, the mask didn't have to be cut out very carefully, so it only took about a minute to get ready.  I should have taken a picture of this, but I didn't think of it at the time.

To give her a little bling I added clear Wink of Stella to her dress, her drinks, hair and in a very line shadow around the image.  Luckily, my camera was able to pick up a bit of the shimmer!

One of the things I love about Stampingbella's images, besides the fact that they're just so adorably cool, is that they're really fun to colour!

I took a little creative liberty with the sketch, but creative liberty is always ok in my books.

I didn't make a video of this card, but I'll probably re-create it and shoot it then.

Here's a question for you guys...

Do you have a favourite Stampingbella line or a favourite stamp?  I just can't decide!

See you next time!
Beth
